Tennis Singles League Rules
1. Match Format

All matches will be played as a single set (first to 6 games).

If the score reaches 6-6, a standard tie-break to 7 points (win by 2) will be played.

Players are responsible for arranging their own matches and providing their own tennis balls.
2. Challenging Opponents

At the start of the league, any player can challenge any other player to a match.

Players should make a reasonable effort to accept challenges in a timely manner.
-
A player cannot challenge the same opponent twice in a row unless both players agree.
3. Recording Results & Standings

After a match, the winner must report the result to the league organizer within 24 hours.

The standings will be updated in real time as much as possible
4. League Structure & Box System

Initially, matches are open-ended, allowing free challenges among players.

In the summer, the league will transition into a box league format:

Players will be placed into smaller groups (e.g., groups of 4-6 players).

Each player must play every other player in their box before the deadline.

At the end of the cycle, the top player(s) move up a box, and the bottom player(s) move down a box.

5. Match Etiquette & Fair Play

Standard tennis rules apply, please be fair with your calls

Players should call their own lines fairly.

If there is a dispute, players may replay the point or agree to a fair resolution.
6. Withdrawals & Inactivity

If a player cannot continue in the league, they should notify the organizer as soon as possible.

Players who fail to play matches for three weeks without communication may be removed or moved to a lower box or burned at the stake
7. Additional Rules
-
The league organizer reserves the right to adjust rules if necessary for fairness.

Any disputes should be resolved in good faith between players or referred to the organizer if needed.
